Leading the youth into the kingdom of God.
Gideon came from a poor Christian family. During his childhood he suffered from a brain illness that was life-threatening. When he was 11 years old he was hospitalized for treatment. At the same time that Gideon was in the hospital, seven other people were also admitted for the same illness and they all passed away, but God spared Gideon. He stayed in the hospital for 7 months battling for his life. In the end, God saved Gideon.
Gideon was left with some cognitive delays when he returned home from the hospital, he began to wander away from home, unaware of what he was doing. He would ride the bus to the surrounding cities until someone recognized him and would call his parents to come get him. His parents enrolled him in a Christian college around the age of 16, thinking that it would help him. This school took their students to church every week. It was here that Gideon heard the pastor say, “Even if no one loves you here on earth, there is one that does.” So all week he thought about what the pastor said and wondered, “Who is it that loves me?” The following week he went to church again and accepted Christ.
At this point Gideon was not able to read or write very well, but God blessed him and as he started reading the Word of God, he began to change mentally and was able to learn and excel in not only his Bible reading but also his other studies. Through Brother Babu, Gideon learned about the Covenant School of Worship. As a student Gideon learned what it means to be a worship leader and grew in his relationship with the Lord. Seeing how God was working through Covenant Worship, Gideon decided to join staff, where he currently serves as our leader for the Covenant Worship Center in Kurnool. His ministry in Kurnool includes sharing the Gospel with those in his community, reaching out the youth, and showing the love of God to the least of these.
Pray for Spiritual growth and that God would use him in mighty ways.
