To become a preacher.
Sometimes life’s disappointments actually serve to direct us down a better road. Moses knows all about this. Moses grew up in Nizamabad with his parents and younger siblings, attending church on Sundays, but not truly knowing God. As a result, he was powerless to resist the temptations of alcohol and cigarettes. Then, while in the 10th standard, calamity befell him. Moses dreamed of joining the Army, but one day a friend accidentally stabbed him in the eye with a wire, blinding him in that eye. Doctors were able to repair his eye, but the Army was no longer an option.
As this door closed, however, a much better one opened. Concerned about his vices and his future, Moses’ parents spoke to their pastor about him. The pastor recommended Bible school, and it was there that Moses accepted Jesus, changing his life forever. Leaving behind the alcohol and cigarettes and embracing his new life in Christ, Moses followed up Bible school with two years of full-time ministry. Moses felt so alive and fulfilled in ministry, but his peace was destroyed by the questions of others — “You’re your parents’ oldest son. Shouldn’t you be supporting them?”
Plagued by the guilt of these questions, Moses left ministry to work full time and support his parents. However, he experienced no peace. God had other plans for Moses’ life, so he sent several people to speak truth over Moses that God was going to use his life. Moses was at last convinced when a pastor offered him a paid position at a prayer center. Moses accepted, but then the position fell through. The pastor then suggested Covenant School of Worship. The Lord confirmed by providing for school fees, and Moses enrolled at the school.
While there, Moses’ relationship with God went to a whole new level. He learned how to lead worship with guitar and keyboard and began to dream of teaching and leading people in worship all over the world. Before he would live out that dream, he had one more struggle with his duty to provide for his parents. With his video editing and media skills, he applied to every news channel in Hyderabad but was turned down. Then God spoke definitively, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Confident in what he should do, Moses returned to minister with Covenant Worship, where he has served for two years now. He enjoys spending his days fully immersed in God’s presence, and his hope is to share the love of Christ with an ever-growing audience.
With Covenant Worship Moses serves as media staff, taking videos and photos of the ministry’s events and using them to reach others with the power of God’s Presence.
